We have made some recent changes to our Listening tool! These changes have been implemented to provide a unified approach to conversation management within Agorapulse. The (new) Advanced Listening tool will act as a resource that keeps a pulse on important topics affecting your organization - with enhanced search and reporting capabilities. Please take a look at the Advanced Listening Explained article for a deep dive on the new feature.
The old version of the Listening tool will be sunset in phases over Q1 of 2025.
In this article we will outline the main changes, including:
We have also included an approximate timeline to assist you with the transition.
What changes have been made to the Listening tool?
You will find an outline of the main updates to the Listening tool below. For information on when these changes will take effect, please reference the Advanced Listening Transition Timeline section of this article.
Facebook and Instagram mentions moving to the Inbox
Reviewing and monitoring mentions on Facebook and Instagram was a primary use case of our original Listening tool. This in effect made it so users would have to handle conversations in two different tools (Listening and Inbox).
To streamline your ability to manage conversations involving your organization, we are moving the ability to manage mentions to the Inbox. This move allows the Listening tool to act as a primary resource for brand and industry insights (including reporting) and the Inbox to act as unified interface for all conversations.
As mentions will be synced directly to the Inbox, all the time-saving features within the Inbox will now be available for mentions management, including:
The ability to auto-review and categorize mentions using Automated Moderation
Enhanced filtering and search ability
Bulk actions (including bulk assign)
Saved Replies will continue to be available
Overall, this change will save you time and make conversation management even easier with Agorapulse!
Improved Listening search functionality
The ability to create and add criteria to Listening searches will be available directly in the Listening tool. All Listening searches can be created using the Search Builder and enhanced search criteria includes:
Multiple parameters for your search
Listening on non-social media sources (blogs)
Ability to exclude specific parameters within a search
A Search Dashboard that organizes search results
The enhanced search capability allows you to receive targeted search results within the Listening tool. These results can now be customized based upon the sources that you choose to see!
Note: Instagram search will remain temporarily in the old listening tool. Please view the Advanced Listening Transition Timeline below for more information.
Listening Reports (Search Results)
The Advanced Listening tool has been developed to allow for greater reporting. Within Listening Search Results you have the ability to view aggregated data organized into four key reports:
Search Volume - Displays the number of criteria matching search results per day
Sentiment Analysis - Classifies the overall sentiment of Listening search results
Conversation Trends - Displays common key words colorized by sentiment
Engagement - Measures engagement on content matching search criteria
In addition to aggregated data, you can also drill into these reports to view specific posts that match your chosen parameters. We have incorporated export and date filtering/comparison functionality for increased usability.
Sunset YouTube search functionality
Due to low usage, we have made the decision to remove YouTube search functionality within the Listening tool. This allows us to focus on features within the tool that will be of greater use to you!
