The Multiple stories option lets you schedule multiple Facebook and Instagram stories in a single post from the Publishing Composer. Agorapulse publishes each story in the order you set and waits to publish the next one until the previous story is published, keeping your stories in the right order without creating a separate post for each story. Letting you build story sequences for several Facebook and Instagram profiles at the same time.
In this article, we will outline:
Please note: Multiple stories are available for Facebook and Instagram profiles on all subscription plans.
How to create a post with multiple stories
Each selected Facebook and Instagram profile has its own Multiple stories section in its network options. You can build a different story sequence for each network, or import the same stories across networks.
To create a post with multiple stories in the Publishing Composer:
Open the Publishing Composer
Select one or more Facebook or Instagram profiles in the Social Profiles panel
Upload the media for your first story in the main media section. This media becomes Story 1 for each selected Facebook and Instagram profile
Scroll down to the Facebook options or Instagram options section, and under Post type, select Story
Toggle on Multiple stories. The toggle is only available once you have uploaded media in the main media section
Add the next stories by using the following options:
Add story: This drop-down will allow you to use the options in the main media section to upload a Story to your post (Upload from your computer, from your Library, Google Drive, or import from Canva).
Import: This drop-down lets you import media from:
Instagram/Facebook: If multiple pieces of media have been added under the Multiple stories section for either Instagram or Facebook, you can use this option to import all of the media from that network. Example: If multiple stories have been added to your Facebook page, and you would like to import them to your Instagram profile, you can click Import and select From Facebook to include all pieces of media from Facebook in your Instagram post.
Post medias: If multiple pieces of media were uploaded to the media bar, the post keeps its first media as Story 1, and the additional media move to the Facebook/Instagram story list and replace the stories already in it.
Repeat steps 4 to 7 for each network you selected.
Note: You can add up to 10 stories per profile in a single post, including the first story.
How to manage uploaded stories
Agorapulse publishes stories in the order they appear in the list. Story 1 always uses the media in the main media section, so the list starts at Story 2. Options to manage the order of each story are available to the right of the stories preview.
The following options are available to manage how stories are ordered in the list:
Click the Up arrow to move a story earlier in the sequence
Click the Down arrow to move a story later in the sequence
Click the Three dots (...) to view the following options:
Swap with first media (Changes Story 1 and replaces it with the selected media)
Replace from computer
Replace from library
Replace from Google Drive
Replace from Canva
Click the Trash icon to remove a story
How multiple stories are published
When you schedule or publish a post with multiple stories:
Agorapulse publishes Story 1 at the date and time you set.
Agorapulse publishes each following story only after it confirms the previous story is live. Your stories stay in order even if one story takes longer to process.
The Publishing Calendar shows the sequence as one post at the scheduled time.
The published post view shows the data for Story 1 only. Agorapulse does not display data for the following stories in the published post view.
Note: Stories you publish directly on Facebook or Instagram, outside Agorapulse, still appear in the Publishing Calendar as one post per story.
What happens if a story fails to publish
If a story fails to publish, Agorapulse will retry the story automatically. If the retries also fail, Agorapulse stops the sequence:
Stories that published before the failed story stay live. Agorapulse does not remove them
The failed story and all stories after it do not publish
The post appears as failed in the Publishing Calendar, even though some stories are live.
To retry a failed post with multiple stories:
Click the Calendar icon in the left-hand navigation to open the Publishing Calendar
Locate the failed post
Click the post to open the detailed post view
Click Retry to publish the remaining stories.
