There are 2 easy ways to send GIFs:
GIPHY Integration
By using the GIF button located in your composer when replying to an item:
If there are no matches for your search, you will see the below message:
Upload a GIF
You can upload a GIF via the Upload photo button:
When you send a GIF on a Facebook thread, the GIF will be static. You can open this in Facebook to view it:
Also if the GIF expires, it will display like the example below:
