It is now possible to publish and schedule content to Pinterest directly from Agorapulse! This article will give you the rundown on how to connect a Pinterest account, how to get started on publishing to Pinterest and what is not available.

How to connect a Pinterest account

  • Click on the '+' icon in the bottom left

  • Select Add a social profile

  • Select Pinterest account

  • Log in using your email address & password or using Facebook/Google

  • Select Give access

How to publish/schedule a Pinterest post

  • Open the publishing composer

  • Ensure the Pinterest account is selected in the left-hand profile list

  • Start creating your post

  • Select which board you want to post to

Please note: It is not possible to create a board via Agorapulse. Boards can only be managed natively also, if a Board is archived after an item is scheduled, the Pin will still be published to the board.

Please note: When creating a post, an image is mandatory but adding text is optional.

Publishing Rich Pins is available but please refer to Pinterest's documentation on how to do this here and here.

Pinterest publishing options

When creating your Pinterest post, you will see the following options under Pinterest options:

  • Title - this option allows you to improve your post with a custom title

  • Destination Link - this option allows you to enter a URL which people will be redirected to when clicking on the pin

  • Board - this option allows you to select the board you want to publish your pin to

What is not possible?

  • It is not possible to publish to secret boards. (if you change a board to "secret" after a Pin is scheduled to be published, the Pin will fail.)

  • It is not possible to add Pins to sub-boards.

  • It is not possible to add Pins on multiple boards.

  • It is not possible to use Pinterest with our Companion app

Pinterest best practices

  1. We recommend that you use high-quality, vertical images that will stand out in people's feeds. We recommend a 2:3 aspect ratio (ex 1000 x 1500 pixels) as other ratios may cause your Pin to truncate, or may negatively impact performance.

  2. We recommend that you use clear titles and descriptions, as these will help your Pin get discovered in search. You can use up to 100 characters for your title and up to 500 characters for your description.
