The European Union Copyright Directive places certain requirements on Facebook for displaying online news content in the EU.

The implementation of the copyright law in France might have consequences which might result in a poor user experience on Facebook. For example, when an article from a French news site is shared/published on Facebook, it may display as a link without images or text from the article.
