ROI calculator: how does it work?
Updated over 10 months ago

The ROI feature allows you to know the monthly value generated by your page. Very useful when your boss or clients are always asking for your Facebook page ROI.

How does it work? First of all, you need to check your Profile settings - ROI to enable the feature and set each value.

By default, the engaged fan value is $1/1€, the CPM (impressions) value is $5/5€ and the link click value is $1/1€, but it's recommended to customize these values according to your needs.

There are 3 metrics which determine your ROI:

  1. engaged fans - this is the number of times users commented or posted on your Page, during given period. We calculate this "on our own", there is no equivalent in Facebook Insights - every time there is new user comment, for example, we add +1 to this number.

  2. impressions - this is the total number of impressions for a given period. It's the same number as Total impressions in Reports > Impressions part. We take this metric from Facebook Insights - the name of the metric is page_impressions:day.

  3. links clicks - this is the number of link clicks for a given period. It's the same number as the number of Link clicks from Reports > Clicks part. We take this metric from Facebook Insights - the name of the metric is link clicks.

Please note that the value of impressions is per thousand - as the name of the metric says, CPM stands for cost per mille, which is cost per thousand (of impressions).

Keep in mind we sync data once a day (around midnight European time) so your new values will be available tomorrow if you just edited your value.

Note: Changes made to these values will be applied from the current month. Past generated values won't be updated.
