Instagram Engagement
Updated over 10 months ago

The Instagram Engagement section gives you an overview of how much engagement you've received across all your posts during the selected time period. This is shown on a daily basis - hovering your mouse over the graph reveals the breakdown of the engagement for a given day.

By engagement we mean:

  • likes: total number of likes received on posts* from the selected period

  • saves (what is a save?): total number of unique Instagram accounts that have saved your post(s)

  • comments: total number of (organic) comments received during the selected period

  • direct messages: total number of messages received**

Below, we compute the Total engagement, which is the sum of all interactions that happened on posts from the selected period.

We also compute Engagement rate. You can see the evolution of the engagement rate in the graph (day by day) - overlaid as a blue line on the chart. The engagement rate is also visible in the recap table - it's the engagement rate for the whole selected reporting period.

By default, we display the engagement rate by impressions. Using the drop-down menu in the top left corner of the chart, it's possible to switch between:
- engagement rate by impressions (total engagement divided by total impressions)
- engagement rate by reach (total engagement divided by total reach)

*Please note that Reels are included in the Engagement & Impressions data

** For Direct Messages count, we count every message in a thread - for example, in the conversation below, there are 3 messages in the thread, and we would count 3 of them
