Automated Moderation explained

Learn how the Automated Moderation feature can help streamline your inbox activities through the power of automation.

Updated over 2 months ago

The Automated Moderation feature helps you to clean up, organize and manage inbox items for you by reviewing, assigning or labelling them automatically. For example, it can detect questions, label them and assign them to the right person. Just enter the right keywords, then tell the assistant who should receive them.

Automated Moderation will work for both items synced in your Inbox and your Listening section area of your Agorapulse Organization.

Please note: Automated Moderation rules aren't applied on Instagram mentions in the Listening Inbox.

Getting Started

From the Inbox tab, click Settings (or directly Automated Moderation)

Click Automated Moderation on the left, then click Create automated rule.

Identify which words or phrases should trigger this rule. Follow this by defining which actions should be taken when these words or phrases appear in your inbox. You can add more than 1 action by clicking the Add action button:

Network Specific Actions

Other limitations depend on which social network you work with inside of Agorapulse and/or what types of actions you have chosen. The table below shows the limitations per social network.

Effect of Actions

  • Items that are automatically Reviewed won't appear in your inbox so you don't have to manage them (spam).

  • Items that are automatically Assigned will get to the right person immediately (questions for support).

  • Items that are automatically labelled will create metrics in your reports and segments of content you can filter to (for example, Competitor mentions).

Prioritizing Rules

If there are multiple Automated Moderation rules that could potentially match an Inbox item, we only apply the top one (the one higher in the list). To change the priority of a rule, use the arrow up / arrow down buttons beside the rule.

We apply each rule in order as they appear in the list, starting with number 1. and working down.

How to edit or remove an Automated Moderation rule

From the Inbox, click Settings or Automated Moderation, to access your list of rules.

Click the rule you want to modify. Make the changes and don't forget to click the Save rule button.

To remove the rule, click the Delete rule button.
