In this article we will outline the answers to common questions regarding the Publishing feature. If your question is not included here, please contact our support team!
What content can be posted as an Instagram Reel?
Instagram Reels must be created using a video file in one of the following formats: MOV and MP4. The video must be within 3 seconds - 15 minutes and less than 1GB in size. The maximum width for an Instagram Reel is 1920px.
Additional publishing specifications may be found here.
After uploading a single video to an Instagram profile in the Add media section of the Publishing Composer, a post will automatically be classified as an Instagram Reel.
It is not possible to post an Instagram Reel with more than one video attached (or with any images attached). Any post that includes more than one file will automatically be classified as a Post (Carousel).
Please Note: If a single video is uploaded to Agorapulse, the only post types available will be Reel (Default) or Story. A single video may not be added as Carousel post type.
Can I split a group of posts?
Yes. When you create a post for multiple social profiles at once, it is initially grouped, meaning all versions share the same content and scheduling settings. If multiple profiles are selected, the post will be created as a group by default.
Splitting the group allows you to:
Adjust the schedule for each version, including different recurrence
Send each post individually for external/internal approval
To split a group of posts after selecting multiple profiles in the Publishing Composer:
Click the "Group of posts" option above the Your post field
Select Schedule as separate posts
Note: Once scheduled as separate posts, they cannot be grouped again.
Can I duplicate a post or a group of posts?
Yes. Duplicating a post allows you to quickly reschedule or repurpose existing content without recreating it from scratch.
A group of posts refers to the same post content published across multiple social profiles at the same time. Grouping helps save time during content planning, but you may want to duplicate and customize versions for different platforms.
To duplicate a post or post group:
Access the Publishing Calendar
Select the scheduled or published post
Click the Duplicate button
Choose whether to duplicate a single post or a group of posts
Note: Users with Admin or Editor permissions may duplicate any post. Users with Moderator permissions may only duplicate posts they created.
Can I edit a published post?
No. Posts published through Agorapulse cannot be edited within the platform once live.
To make changes:
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube: Edit directly on the platform. Some elements, such as images or videos, may not be editable.
Twitter and TikTok: Editing published posts is not supported natively or via Agorapulse.
Can I publish a Facebook carousel post?
No. Agorapulse does not support native Facebook carousel posts. However, you can upload multiple images to a Facebook post, and they will appear in a gallery-style layout.
Why can I not edit Facebook link previews?
Facebook removed the ability to edit link previews (title, description, thumbnail) for unverified domains to reduce misinformation. This limitation applies across all third-party tools, including Agorapulse.
If your domain is verified in Facebook Business Manager, you may still edit link metadata for posts linking to that domain. This applies only to the Page that owns the verified domain.
You may follow this link to learn more about Facebook domain verification.
Can I control which image appears when I share a link?
Yes, but only if the website being shared uses Open Graph (OG) meta tags correctly.
Social networks scan a webpage's OG tags to determine how a link preview appears. These tags allow you to define the title, image, and description.
Your website administrator should ensure the page includes:
og:image
og:title
og:type
og:url
og:site_name
og:description
Agorapulse will use these tags to generate the preview when you share a link. You may also manage link previews for some networks by following the steps here.
Why do I see an "Agorapulse" stamp on my Facebook post?
Facebook requires all third-party publishing tools to include a source label. Posts published via Agorapulse display "Published by Agorapulse" to Page admins.
This stamp is only visible to admins and does not appear to followers.
Why are some Facebook photo albums missing?
Agorapulse cannot publish to Facebook's default albums due to API restrictions.
These albums include:
Profile pictures
Cover photos
Timeline photos
You can still select from custom albums when publishing.
Note: It is not possible to create a new Facebook photo album from Agorapulse.
Why does only a link appear when I share a news article?
Certain EU copyright regulations, such as the Copyright Directive in France, may restrict how previews display when sharing news content. In affected regions, links may appear without a title, image, or description.
This is a network-level restriction, not an Agorapulse issue.
Why is my uploaded image rotated or upside down?
Some images, especially those taken with mobile devices, include EXIF metadata that indicates rotation. Agorapulse does not process this metadata.
To fix orientation issues:
Open the image in any image editing tool
Rotate and save the image to overwrite the metadata
Re-upload the corrected file
Can I preview my video before publishing?
Yes. Once uploaded in the Media section, your video appears in the Social Media Preview panel on the right side of the Publishing Composer. Click the play icon to preview the video.
Notes:
Previews may not work in all browsers. Use Chrome for the best experience.
HEVC-encoded videos cannot be previewed on Windows. They can be previewed on macOS and published normally.
How can I change the order of images and media in my post?
You can rearrange the display order of images and media either in the Media panel or while customizing your post for a specific social network.
To re-order images in the Media panel:
Navigate to the Media panel in the Publishing Composer
Drag and drop the image thumbnails into the desired order
The order set in the Media panel applies to all social networks included in the post.
To re-order images when customizing a post:
In the Social preview panel, click the pencil icon
Confirm post customization
Drag and drop the thumbnails into the desired order in the Media section
The order determines how images will appear on the published post on the social network.
Can I add multiple images when publishing?
Yes. Agorapulse supports multi-image posts, respecting each network’s native limits:
Facebook: Unlimited images
Twitter: Up to 4 images
LinkedIn: Up to 10 images
Instagram: Up to 10 images
Bluesky: Up to 4 images
Google Business: 1 image
Threads: Up to 20 images
Can I publish a GIF?
Yes, depending on the network:
Facebook: One animated GIF per post. Adding more images disables animation.
Instagram: GIFs are not animated. Convert to MP4 for animation.
Twitter: Animated GIFs are supported
LinkedIn: Animated GIFs are supported
We recommend converting complex GIFs to MP4 if animation is essential.
Can I publish to multiple Twitter profiles at the same time?
No. Due to X (Twitter)’s API policy change in March 2018, it is not permitted to publish the same tweet to multiple Twitter accounts simultaneously.
“Do not simultaneously post identical or substantially similar content to multiple accounts.”
As a result:
You cannot publish, schedule, or queue the same tweet to more than one Twitter profile at once
You also cannot schedule the same tweet to multiple dates
This limitation applies to all third-party tools that use the X (Twitter) API. You may publish to X (Twitter) and other social networks simultaneously, or retweet from one X (Twitter) account to another.
How do I schedule a Retweet on Twitter?
You can schedule a Retweet by using the tweet's URL:
Copy the tweet link (e.g.,
https://twitter.com/example/status/1234567890
)Paste it into the Your post field Publishing Composer
Wait for the link preview to load
Delete the URL from the Your post field
Add the desired content to the retweet
Schedule or publish the post
Note: This method will not work if the URL contains tracking parameters.
Why does LinkedIn show the wrong author on published posts?
The name displayed next to "Posted by" on LinkedIn posts published through Agorapulse is determined by LinkedIn and is only visible to Page admins. It always shows the name of the Page admin who originally connected the Page to Agorapulse.
This is a LinkedIn API limitation. The author display cannot be edited within Agorapulse.
To update the displayed author: Disconnect the Page and reconnect it using the credentials of the desired Page admin. Future posts will display the new name as the author.
