To connect a Facebook Page or Instagram Professional Account to Agorapulse, or to renew an existing token, you must use your own personal Facebook profile.
Facebook’s platform does not issue access tokens directly to Pages or Instagram Professional Accounts. Rather, all permissions and access tokens must be granted through a personal profile that holds a role on the Facebook Page or Instagram Professional Account. This method of authentication is required by Facebook and applies to any tool that integrates via their API. Using your own personal Facebook profile ensures that the connection between Agorapulse and Facebook or Instagram remains stable and without interruption.

To ensure a stable connection between Agorapulse and your Facebook Page or Instagram Professional Accounts, make sure you avoid the following:
Logging in as a teammate or client when connecting a profile
Logging in with different or multiple personal Facebook profiles
Using a shared Facebook personal profile across multiple people
Creating or using a fake personal profile that does not reflect your real identity
Trying to connect a Page or Instagram profile without having the required role assigned to your personal profile
These actions can lead to issues like failed token renewal and frequent token expiration.
What issues may occur if you do not use your own personal Facebook profile?
If a Facebook Page or Instagram Professional Account is connected using a shared, fake, or ineligible personal Facebook profile, the following issues may arise:
You may be unable to connect the profile to Agorapulse
Access tokens may fail to refresh or expire unexpectedly
Connections may drop without warning, especially when different team members reconnect using different profiles
Some social profiles may disconnect while others remain active
