Updated this week

Scheduling content in Agorapulse helps you to stay organized and ensures consistent delivery across all platforms. After scheduling content in the Publishing Composer, you can easily view, edit and manage scheduled posts through your Social Calendar. This guide will walk you through:

  • How to schedule a post

  • How to edit a scheduled post

  • How to delete a scheduled post

For a general overview of how to publish a post, please take a look at the Publishing Composer Explained article.

How to schedule a post

In order to schedule a post, you will first need to follow the instructions listed in the 'Create a Post' section of the Publishing Composer Explained article. Here you will learn how to add relevant media, captions, links and customized settings per social profile.

Please Note: As long as you have a paid subscription plan, there is no limit to the number of posts you can publish or schedule. If you have a Free Plan, you can schedule 10 posts at any one time.

Schedule a Group of Posts

If you want to create scheduled content across multiple social media platforms, be sure to select the relevant social profiles from the the left-hand side menu.

If you are managing a large amount of social profiles, you can utilize folders to further categorize them. To learn how to create and arrange profiles into folders, see our Help Center article.

If you need to customize a single post in the group, you can do so on the right side of the Publishing Composer. Just click the Pencil icon next to the relevant preview:

To learn more about customizing post content per social profile, see our Help Center article here.

You can also choose to split a group of posts if different settings should be applied per profile. This can be helpful if you need to send posts from each profile to different collaborators for approval, or if you need to schedule the recurrence of posts per social profile on a different cadence. More information about splitting a group of posts is available here.

Customize Publishing Times per Profile

You can customize the scheduled publishing date and time per social profile for posts within the same group. This way, you can target your users when and where they are most engaged. While in the Publishing Composer, select the Date & Time icon.

In the Date & Time settings window, you can select your preferred publishing schedule for the relevant post. You may choose to add the same date and time to all profiles, or select a different date and time for each profile. As the dates are selected, they will appear under the profile they will be applied to.

You can schedule multiple publishing dates for the same post by clicking on the Add another date button after the first publishing time has been selected. Agorapulse also offers Queues to assist with planned scheduling content on a regular cadence. More information on Queues is available in our help center.

The calendar located within this window will bring your attention to any posts that have already been scheduled on the chosen profiles. This provides a quick reference that can assist with choosing your preferred scheduling time!

Please note: Due to Twitter's Terms of Service it is not possible to schedule a post to a Twitter profile for more than 1 date. You can read more about that in this article.

How to edit a scheduled post

If you want to change the scheduled date or any content within your scheduled post, there are a couple of ways to to do this!

Change the Scheduled Date

You can change the publishing date directly in the Social Calendar. Simply select the Calendar icon on the left-hand side menu of your Agorapulse account. Then click and hold the post you want to modify and drag it to the place in the Calendar where you want it to be published.

Note: Even if there are multiple posts linked to that post (i.e. multiple social profiles), dragging and dropping a date will only change the time for the selected post.

Edit Scheduled Post Content or Publishing Times

You can also change the date and time by clicking on the post in the Social Calendar and opening the Publishing Composer. Here you can edit the content of the post and press Save changes. You can also adjust the Date & Time settings and enter your new preferred date and time for publishing! The GIF above also outlines this process.

How to delete a scheduled post

Agorapulse allows you to delete a scheduled post through the Social Calendar and the Publishing Composer.

Delete a Post in the Publishing Composer

Firstly, from the calendar view. Go to the Social Calendar and click on the post you want to delete. Once the Publishing Composer opens up, click the Delete trash icon on the bottom-left. You will be asked to confirm your action as it is irreversible.

The confirmation window will also confirm how many post(s) are in the group you are deleting. Please ensure this is correct before continuing.

Please Note: Deleting a post from the Publishing Composer will delete all posts in the group (i.e. the scheduled post will be deleted over all social profiles)

Delete a Post in the Social Calendar

If you would like to delete an individual post within a group, you can do so by navigating to the Social Calendar and selecting the List view. Choose the Scheduled filter and scroll to find the post you want to delete. Click on the 3-dots menu and you can either select to Delete this post (individual), or Delete this group of posts (group). You will again be asked to confirm your action since it's irreversible.

Removing a Post from a Group

If you would like to remove a specific profile from a group of posts (not delete the post entirely), you just need to de-select the tick next to the relevant profile after opening the group of posts in the Publishing Composer.
