Uploading media for multiple social networks can sometimes be tricky due to the different limitations set by each network. We've made this guide to help you figure out what is the best and recommended specification for your image or video file.
Agorapulse does not edit or change the size, resolution, or quality of the image(s) or video(s) uploaded for publishing by users. Learn more here.
Images
For images, you should follow the specifications below:
If you're publishing on multiple social networks at the same time, the aspect ratio that would fit most networks and which would be most optimised for a mobile experience is 1.91:1 (example resolution 1200 x 628 px or 1080 x 566 px). For Twitter, the optimum would be 16:9 (e.g. 1200 x 675 px).
Note: GIF file format is accepted by Facebook/Instagram, but certain conditions apply to publishing animated GIFs - see here for more details.
Videos
For videos, you should stick to the following specifications:
* Note for YouTube Shorts:
- Video duration must be between 1 - 60 seconds.
- The aspect ratio should be either Square (1:1) or Portrait (recommended 9:16)
If the video is in portrait but the ratio differs from 9:16, YouTube will automatically add black/dark zones on each side (left/right) of the video. This also means that whatever the duration, a landscape format video will never be considered a YouTube Short.
Please Note: Videos with codec HEVC may be published on all social networks but cannot be previewed on Windows operating systems. Previews for HEVC may be viewed on Mac. This will also apply once the video has been published, if a user attempts to view it within Agorapulse (in the Social/Shared Calendar).
If you are publishing videos on multiple social networks at the same time, the aspect ratio that would fit most of them is 16:9 (e.g. 1280 x 720 px), or 1:1 (e.g. 1080 x 1080 px).
