How to measure the impact of your work with Agorapulse
How to measure the impact of your work with Agorapulse
Updated over 8 months ago

At Agorapulse, we want to help our users showcase the value of their work by facilitating the tracking process and centralizing the data. With the Social Media ROI feature, it's possible to track the impact of your social media efforts (published posts and interactions of fans/followers) on web traffic and conversions.

Measure the business impact of your work within Agorapulse by combining UTM tracking and Google Analytics data

Connecting a Google Analytics (GA) account inside Agorapulse, in combination with UTM tracking, will allow you to measure previously hard-to-grasp metrics. Those metrics include the traffic, goal completions and revenue generated by individual pieces of content, conversations, social profiles, team members and more.

To unlock those insights, you'll need to both track UTM from Agorapulse and connect your GA account to Agorapulse. The combination of both of those actions will allow you to retrace website visitors' steps all the way from their specific interactions on your website to the initial piece of content that brought them there.

How to use UTM tracking from the publishing and inbox

UTM parameters allow you to track the effectiveness of your marketing efforts, via Google Analytics, for example. There are 5 parameters:

    • Source

    • Medium

    • Campaign

    • Content

    • Terms

You can create and add UTM parameters directly in Agorapulse.

  • Add UTM tracking from the publishing composer

  • Add UTM tracking from the inbox

Step by Step guide to connect a Google Analytics Account

1. Check if you have access to the Social Media ROI feature

The Social Media ROI is currently available in some way shape or form for Standard, Professional, Advance and Tailored plans. You can also test the feature during your trial (for up to a month).

2. Connect Google Analytics to Agorapulse

Your GA access rights are stored inside your Google Account. You will need to connect to the Google Account you usually use to log into the Google Analytics Account you wish to get insights from.

Pick the Google Account for which you have the desired GA access rights and click "Allow" to authorise Agorapulse to connect to your Google Accounts.

3. Choose which Google Analytics Accounts, Properties and Views you wish to add to Agorapulse

The first thing we will ask you to add is the GA Account you wish to get insights from. You can always remove an account you added from the settings. There are no limits to the number of GA Accounts you can add so feel free to add as many as you want.

Once you've selected at least one account, click "Confirm accounts and go to next step". You will now need to add the properties and views within the account that you wish to add. Those will allow us to access specific data within the account. Any property or view you do not select will not be shown inside Agorapulse.

You may be limited in the number of properties or views you can add depending on your plan. Standard plans can add 1, Professional can add 4 and Advanced plans can add an unlimited amount.

Once you've selected the properties and views you wish to get insights from, click "Add Google Analytics account"

4. You're done!

With both the UTM tracking and Google Account connected to Agorapulse, you can start to get insights into the business impact of your social media presence. As the content you share from Agorapulse gets published with tracked links, your Social Media ROI dashboards will get populated with more and more insights!
