This article will explain how to effectively respond to comments and messages on your Instagram posts and stories.

Replying to comments & ads comments

Click on the comment, or ad comment, that you would like to reply to and then type the reply into the provided field. Don't forget to hit Send when you're done composing your reply!

Note: You can add an emoji, but you can't add attachments and the character limit for an Instagram comment is 2200 characters.

The username of the author you're replying to is also counted.


Can I like Instagram comments?

Due to API restrictions, at this time it's not possible to like an Instagram comment with a 3rd party tool like Agorapulse.

You can use our handy View on Instagram button and like the comment directly on Instagram.


Find replies to your Instagram stories

When someone replies to your own Story or when someone mentions your Instagram account in their Story, these will be synced into your Agorapulse Inbox / Listening.

Story mentions and replies to Stories are part of Instagram Direct messages. To be able to see them in Agorapulse, you'll need to activate this feature first.

When someone mentions you in their Story, this will appear in the Listening section under Story mentions. As the conversation goes on, it'll move to the Inbox and will be under Direct messages.

When someone replies to your own story, this will appear in the Inbox section under Direct messages.

Note: At this moment we aren't able to sync poll results or answers to different type of questions - this isn't currently supported by Instagram API.


How do I send a direct message to a user on Instagram?

It's possible to reply to received Instagram messages from Agorapulse Inbox. First, you'll need to activate Instagram Direct messages - here's how to do that.

After successful activation, new Instagram messages will be synced into Agorapulse Inbox in real-time. They can be filtered by Direct messages filter at the top.

At this moment, it's technically not possible to initiate / start new Instagram conversation with a user, from Agorapulse. It's only possible to reply to received messages.



Why are there no Instagram DMs (direct messages) in my Inbox?

All Instagram Professional accounts (Business/Creator) have the ability to manage their Instagram DMs and Story mentions in Agorapulse. If you're not able to manage Instagram DMs at the moment, please make sure you have completed the steps described here - they are needed to make Instagram DMs work on your profiles.
