How to generate an AI Summary

Quickly and easily analyze, interpret and action reporting data with AI.

An AI Summary is an AI-powered summary designed to save you time and add context to your reporting. Available in single-profile reports and Report Studio, it transforms raw data into a clear narrative by surfacing the most important results, identifying what caused performance changes, and suggesting actionable next steps.

In this article, we will outline:

Please Note: For single reports, the AI Summary is available to users on a Standard, Professional, Advanced, or Custom subscription plan.

How to generate an AI Summary for Single Reports

After navigating to the Reports feature, you may generate an AI Summary by following these steps:

  1. Choose a social profile from the left-hand menu and select a date range

  2. Click the AI insights icon

  3. A window will open on the right side of the page. Click Summarize to generate your AI insights

Once your AI insights have been generated, you can click the Copy button below the summary to copy it

Note: To generate a summary for a new period, update the date range and click Generate summary again.

What is included in the AI Summary?

The content of the AI Summary adapts to the type of report and the selected network. Each Summary is organized under three sections to make results easy to review and share. These sections include:

Profile performance summary

This section highlights the most important metrics for the selected profile and date range. It includes:

  • A summary of metrics such as Engagement, Impressions, and Audience Growth

  • Comparisons with the previous reporting period

  • Root cause explanations for significant changes (for example, a viral post, changes in posting frequency, or shifts in content format)

  • Indications when data is not available for a metric

Content Analysis

This section analyzes your content and its performance. This includes:

  • Engagement per post, content volume, and audience size

  • Identification of gaps and opportunities, such as lower posting frequency or weaker engagement

  • Insights only when comparative data is available

Actionable Recommendations

This section provides guidance for improving results. It includes:

  • At least one tactical and one strategic recommendation

  • Concrete steps such as increasing posting frequency, experimenting with new content formats, or replicating high-performing posts

  • Suggestions designed to shape future strategy and improve performance over time

Data Limits for the AI Summary

To ensure reliable performance of the AI Summary:

  • For reports longer than two months, data is aggregated:

    • Reporting periods of 2–6 months are grouped by 3-day intervals

    • Reporting periods of 6–12 months are grouped by week

  • If a report contains more than 50 posts, only 50 will be analyzed (the 25 most recent and the 25 oldest)

To generate a summary of your individual metrics using the AI insights button, you will need to:

  1. Click the AI insights button at the top of the page

  2. In the window, depending on the report (Single Report or Report Studio), individual metrics are categorized differently.

    • For Single Reports, metrics are categorized by the type of report that they belong to, and clicking on one of these drop-downs will display the list of available metrics. These drop-downs are:

      • Audience

      • Posts insights

      • Posts performance

      • Stories performance

    • For Report Studio, metrics are separated by the tabs that you have added to your report. Clicking on the name of one of these tabs will display a list of all the widgets that are in that tab.

  3. Select the metric that you would like to view a summary of
Note: Hovering over the metric will take you directly to that metric's widget in your reports

Once the summary is generated, you can click Copy to copy the summary or click View widget to be taken directly to the widget in your report

To generate a summary directly from the widget in the report, you will need to:

  1. Hover over the widget you would like to generate a summary for

  2. Click the Purple star icon

  3. In the window that opens, the summary of your chosen metric will be generated

Once the summary is generated, you can click Copy to copy the generated summary

AI Summary limitations

  • The AI summary provides a general overview of your reports and cannot pinpoint specific posts that caused the increase in your metrics.

  • If more than 50 posts exist within the selected period, the AI Summary analyzes only the 25 oldest and 25 newest posts.

  • For long reports:

    • 2–6 month periods are aggregated in 3-day intervals.

    • 6–12 month periods are aggregated weekly.
