In Agorapulse reports, you are able to measure your social media strategy by customizing your reporting period, comparing metric variations over time and filtering reports based on data points.
In this article we will cover:
How to select a reporting period in Reports
It is possible to select a custom reporting period for the following reports: Audience Report Explained, Content (Global) Report Explained, Content (Performance) Report Explained, Competitors Report Explained and Custom Reports Explained. By default, Agorapulse will show results from the last 30 days in all reports.
To select a reporting period in Agorapulse reports:
Choose a social profile from the left-hand navigation menu under Social profiles
Navigate to your chosen report
Click on the date selector menu on the top left
In the pop-up choose from the pre-selected reporting periods* or enter a custom reporting period
*The pre-selected reporting periods include:
Yesterday
Last 7 days
Last 30 days
Previous month
This month
Custom (Total reporting period must be less than 1 year)
Please Note: Historical reporting data is dependent on when you connected your social profile and the type of subscription you have. Only 7 days of historical data is available for users on the Free plan.
How to enter a custom comparison period in Reports
Please Note: Custom comparison periods in Reports (included in the Power Reports feature) are available for users on an Advanced or Custom plan. If you would like to change your plan to access this feature, feel free to reach out to us here.
After selecting a reporting period in Reports, you are able to enter a custom comparison period in order to compare metrics between two specific periods. After selecting a reporting period, the custom comparison period will automatically default to the same period immediately preceding the selected reporting period.
i.e. If the reporting period selected in April 9th - April 16th (7 days), the default custom comparison period will be April 1st - April 8th.
It is possible to customize the comparison period in Reports after selecting your reporting period by following the steps below:
Click on the Comparison period date selector
Choose a comparison date rage in the calendar pop-up
You can change to the default comparison period by clicking Back to default comparison period
Please Note: If you change the main report period in your view, the comparison period resets to the default comparison period for the specified reporting period.
How to compare metrics using a custom comparison period
After entering a custom comparison period, you can measure the variation between key metrics. These variations will appear as color coded percentages in the header of all applicable reporting sections. The variations can be interpreted as follows:
Green - % increase in the relevant metric
Grey - No change or % decrease in the relevant metric
In header of the reporting section, the percentage change will be visible, along with the comparison period. i.e. -21.4% Compared to Mar 8, 2025 - Mar 15, 2025
The Variation metric (available for some sections of the Audience Report) also compares specific metrics between the reporting period and the comparison period.
Note: It is important to enter a comparison period that is the same length as the reporting period in order to effectively compare data.
How to filter Agorapulse reports
It is possible to filter the Audience report, Content (Global) report and the Content (Performance) report. Filtering reports allows for more granular insights based on specified criteria. Filters may also be added to report exports.
Filters are available dependent on the relevant report and social network (which has been clarified in the table below).
To add a filter to an Agorapulse report:
Navigate to the desired report
Click on the Filters icon
Select the filtering criteria
Click Apply
Note: Filters are not sticky and will have to be added each time you navigate to a new report.
