After extracting Ideas from your source content, your next step with Archie will be to begin generating posts. These posts will be adapted to each social network's formatting while using your brand's voice.

How post-generation works in Archie
Archie follows a five-step process each time you generate posts:
Idea selection: Archie extracts themes from your source content. You can select one or more themes to focus on.
Angle selection: For each selected idea, Archie identifies multiple angles. Choose the angle that fits your current campaign.
Post generation: Archie writes posts for each selected social network, applying the rules from your Playbook.
Internal quality scoring: Each post is automatically evaluated for tone compliance and platform best practices.
Review and edit: Review the generated posts, make any edits, and schedule them to your publishing calendar.
Please Note: Posts generated without a complete Playbook tend to sound more generic. Complete your Playbook, including your brand goal, target audience, and tone, before generating your posts. For steps on setting up your Playbook, click here
How to generate a post
When generating posts using Archie, the source that you select will determine if your post is generated with only text (PDF, URL, Video, or Audio sources) or if Archie will also include a video clip (Video clip source).
To generate a post using PDF, URL, Video, or Audio sources:
Open Archie from the left-hand navigation menu.
Select either:
New conversation and follow the steps listed here to upload and extract Ideas from your source content
OrSelect an ongoing Archie conversation
Click on the Ideas tab. From here, you can either:
Select the Idea that you would like Archie to use by clicking Draft
Note: You can use the @Reference button to reference the Idea in the chat with Archie. Multiple Ideas can be selected by clicking the @Reference button next to other Ideas. Clicking @Reference in the chat will allow you to select ideas as well as any uploaded sources.If no sources are in the session, a message in Archie's text box describing a post can become the idea for that post, and the chat produces drafts right away.
Archie will then generate four suggested angles to choose from. Use the - or + buttons to either decrease or increase the number of drafts you'd like Archie to generate using the specific angle.
Note: Setting this number to 0 will skip this angle, and a maximum of 10 drafts can be generated per angle.Click Generate draft
You will then be asked to select accounts to generate posts for. Select one or more of the following networks: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, or X (Twitter).
Once you have selected the accounts that you would like to use, click Select account to generate
Once clicked, posts will begin to be generated in the Drafts tab. The amount of time it takes to generate these posts will depend on the number of drafts and accounts selected.
Please Note: When generating posts for multiple profiles, Archie generates a separate post for each profile, adapting to that profile's voice and aligning with each platform's best practices (e.g., a LinkedIn post will differ in format and length from an Instagram caption).
To generate a post using the Extract video clip workflow:
Open Archie from the left-hand navigation menu.
Select either:
New conversation and follow the steps listed here to upload and extract Ideas from your source content
OrSelect an ongoing Archie conversation
Click on the Sources tab
(Optional) You can trim a video clip by hovering over the video clip and clicking Trim. From here, you can adjust the length of the video clip and then click Save trim. Videos that have already been trimmed will display a green icon in the image preview saying Trimmed
Select one or multiple clips
Click Generate posts from clip
Archie will then ask you to select from the drop-down what aspect ratio you would like for the clips. The available aspect ratios are 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5, & 4:3
You will then be able to choose a Subtitle style. The available styles are:
No subtitles (Clips without subtitles)
Karaoke (Words highlighted as they are spoken)
Deep Diver (Active word on a clean pill)
Youshaei (Bold centered, mint active word)
PopLine (Active word with a color underline)
Mozi (Bold caps, keywords in color)
ThinkMedia (Italic caps, popping keywords)
Beasty (Glowing bubble text, color keywords)
Simple (Clean bold caps, no effects)
You will then be asked to select accounts to generate posts for. Select one or more of the following networks: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Threads, or X (Twitter).
Once you have selected the accounts that you would like to use, click Select account to generate
Once clicked, posts will begin to be generated in the Drafts tab. The amount of time it takes to generate these posts will depend on the number of drafts and accounts selected.
How to generate images for your posts
After a text post has been generated, you can click Generate an image beneath a post's text to generate an image. The image generated will be based on:
The text in your post
(Optional) The default look set in your Playbook. More information on how to set a default look can be found here.
Or you can use the Image Studio to generate an image based on a selected style, image, or a text prompt. In the drop-downs below, we will cover how to generate an image based on each method.

How to generate an image based on a style
Generating an image based on a style lets you pick from one of your Playbook's styles, or one of our own. All images generated will have the same look. This works well for posts that should match your brand.
Beneath your generated post, click Image Studio
In the pop-up, click on A style
On the next page, you can use the following options to customize how your image is generated:
Style: Select from one of the following styles that Archie will use when generating an image:
New style: Selecting this will allow you to create a style. When creating a style, you will need to provide:
A Name for the style
Reference images: Upload 2 to 6 images that share the look that you want
(Optional) Style prompt: Provide a prompt for how you would like your image styled. Clicking Generate from the images will have Archie generate a prompt based on the images that you have uploaded.
Note: If you have created an Image style in your Playbook, these will also be listed. For more information on how to create Image styles from your Playbook, check out this article.
Tech Minimal: Flat vector, generous whitespace, a subtle grid
Corporate: A structured layout in a restrained palette
3D Render: Glossy 3D, soft studio lighting, depth and volume
Bold Editorial: Bold type, high contrast, a magazine layout
Photoreal: Natural light, a shallow depth of field
Hand-drawn: Organic linework on warm paper
(Optional) Text on the image: Add text that will appear on the image or click Suggest to have Archie generate a suggestion. If left empty, Archie will provide text from your post
Shape: Select an aspect ratio for your image. The selectable aspect ratios will depend on the social profile that the post belongs to
Variations: Select the number of images for Archie to generate (up to 4)
Click Generate prompt
After clicking Generate prompt, a prompt will be generated based on the options that you selected above. Once the image is generated, you can choose from the following options:
In feed on: View how the image will appear in your feed for your social profile
Edit: You can further edit your image to tweak how it appears. More information on editing your image can be found here
Click the two circular arrows to regenerate this variation of the image
Click the download button to download the image as a PNG
Generate again: Generate a new image based on the selected options
Once you are happy with the image that Archie generated, click Use in draft to add it to your post.

How to generate an image based on an image
Generating an image based on an image allows you to upload your own image. When Archie generates a new image, it will use the colors and feel of the image that you uploaded.
Beneath your generated post, click Image Studio
In the pop-up, click on An image
Under Your image, click Upload an image and select the reference image that you would like to use, or you can drag and drop it
(Optional) Under Text on the image, add text that will appear on the image, or click Suggest to have Archie generate a suggestion. If left empty, Archie will provide text from your post
Under Shape, select an aspect ratio for your image. The selectable aspect ratios will depend on the social profile that the post belongs to
Finally, under Variations, select the number of images for Archie to generate (up to 4)
Click Generate prompt
After clicking Generate prompt, a prompt will be generated based on the options that you selected above. Once the image is generated, you can choose from the following options:
In feed on: View how the image will appear in your feed for your social profile
Edit: You can further edit your image to tweak how it appears. More information on editing your image can be found here
Click the two circular arrows to regenerate this variation of the image
Click the download button to download the image as a PNG

How to generate an image from scratch
Generating an image from scratch lets you describe the subject, the medium, the light, and the mood in your words. This is good for a one-off that should not look like the rest.
Beneath your generated post, click Image Studio
In the pop-up, click on From scratch
Under Describe the image, describe the image that you would like Archie to generate. If you are having trouble coming up with a prompt, you can click Suggest from the post to have Archie provide a prompt based on your post
Under Shape, select an aspect ratio for your image. The selectable aspect ratios will depend on the social profile that the post belongs to
Finally, under Variations, select the number of images for Archie to generate (up to 4)
Click Generate prompt
After clicking Generate prompt, a prompt will be generated based on the options that you selected above. Once the image is generated, you can choose from the following options:
In feed on: View how the image will appear in your feed for your social profile
Edit: You can further edit your image to tweak how it appears. More information on editing your image can be found here
Click the two circular arrows to regenerate this variation of the image
Click the download button to download the image as a PNG
Generate again: Generate a new image based on the selected options
Once you are happy with the image that Archie generated, click Use in draft to add it to your post.
Please note: If you decide that you don't want to include the generated image in your post, or would like to use a different image, hover over the image and click Change to upload a new image or Remove (Bin icon) to delete the image.
How to edit a generated image
Once an image has been generated, you can edit the image by clicking the Edit tab at the top of the Image Studio. In the image editor, you will be given the following options:
Crop: You will be provided with multiple aspect ratios that work best with the social platform for your post. You can also select the Freeform option to manually crop the image. Click the Checkmark (✓) to confirm the changes.
Add text: Adds a text box to the image where you can add custom text. The text box can be repositioned and resized along with the following options:
Colour: Customize the color of your text. Your brand colors will be available by default, but you can customize the color by clicking on the Plus (+) button
Font (Aa): Choose between 6 different font types (Default, Source Sans, Montserrat, Playfair Display, Oswald, & Caveat)
Bold
Italic
Outline: Use the toggle to enable an outline around your text, and customize the color and thickness of the outline around your text. Your brand colors will be available by default, but you can customize the color by clicking on the Plus (+) button
Shadow: Use the toggle to enable a shadow behind your text, and use the slider to adjust the intensity of the shadow
Bin: Click the Bin icon to remove the text box from the image
Add image: Add a brand image from your Playbook, or click Upload an image to add a custom image. Images can be:
Repositioned: Click on the image and drag it
Resized: By clicking and dragging the circle at the bottom-right corner of the image, you can enlarge or shrink the image
Rotated: Click on the two curved arrows above the image to rotate the image
Please note: Clicking on the generated image will also allow you to Reposition, Resize, & Rotate it.
On the right side of the image, you can select a layer of the image and describe a change that you would like to make to that part of the image in the text box that appears
In the Archie text box below the generated image, if there are any changes that you would like to make to the image, you can describe them to Archie and then click Redraw to have Archie implement those changes
Once you have made the desired changes to the image, click Use this image to add it to your post
How to regenerate or refine a post using Archie
If a generated post does not meet your needs, you can ask Archie to iterate on the post without starting over.
Click on the "@" symbol next to the post or posts that you would like to refine to reference it in the Archie chat box
Type your feedback in Archie's text box. For example:
"Make it shorter and more conversational."
"Lead with a question instead of a statement."
"Adjust the tone" (more formal, more casual, shorter, longer, etc.)
Archie will regenerate the post based on your feedback.
How to edit a generated post
All posts generated by Archie are fully editable. You can either open the post in the Composer to edit the post with the same options you would have when editing the post from your publishing calendar, or you can click directly on the post's text and edit the text without opening the Composer. More information on the publishing options available in the Composer can be found here.
To edit a generated post from the Composer, you will need to:
Click Edit in Composer (Pencil icon) to the right of the post
Make the necessary changes to your post
Click Save draft to apply your changes.
To edit a generated post without opening the Composer, you will need to:
Click on the text of the post you would like to edit
Make the necessary updates to your post's text
Click Save changes to apply your changes.
Please note: Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube posts generated by Archie require an image or a video to be published. For PDF, URL, Video, and Audio sources, you will either need to edit the post to add an image or video file, or you can generate an image by following the steps here
How to edit a video clip
Once you have generated a post, you can edit the video clip by clicking Edit clip at the bottom left of the video preview. When editing a clip, you will be able to select from the following options:
Under Ratio, you can choose from 5 ratios to export your video, and next to the ratio type is a list of the social networks that support that format. The available ratios are:
16:9 (Landscape): The supported networks are YouTube, LinkedIn, & X (Twitter)
9:16 (Vertical): The supported networks are TikTok, Instagram, & YouTube
4:3 (Standard): The supported network is Facebook
1:1 (Square): The supported networks are Instagram, Facebook, & X (Twitter)
4:5 (Portrait): The supported networks are Instagram & Facebook
Under Style, there are three tabs: Presets, Font, and Effects
The Presets tab lets you select a different subtitle preset
The Font tab lets you further customize the Text, Outline & Shadow, as well as the Emphasis color of your subtitles. These options include Font, Size, Weight, Text color, Uppercase, Italic, Outline color, Outline width, Shadow color, and Highlighted word color.
The Effects tab lets you customize the position of the subtitles in your video (Auto, Top, Middle, or Bottom), the number of lines (1, 2, or 3), Max words (1-12), and if there are any dead zones (None or Reels)
Under Reframe, you can edit the layout of how your video is framed. The Source shows how the video is currently rendered. When you begin reframing your video, the preview on the right will show the video's output. The available options to reframe your videos are:
Auto: Automatically frames the video in the selected aspect ratio
One speaker: One window that focuses on a single speaker in a video
Two speakers: Creates two stacked frames so that two speakers are the focus of the video. Only available in portrait aspect ratios (4:5 & 9:16)
Fit: Fit the whole frame
Note: Multiple frames can be created by clicking Split part here
The Transcript tab allows you to preview and edit the text used for your subtitles with the following options:
Single-clicking on a word allows you to either Highlight the word or Hide from captions.
Double-clicking on a word allows you to edit it.
Clicking Speech cleanup highlights any filler words (e.g., um or uh) as well as any pauses. Clicking Remove all will remove these from the transcript.
Clicking Save changes will finalize your edits.
Please Note: Clicking on the subtitles in the preview window will allow you to manually adjust the position of the subtitles in the video by dragging and dropping the subtitle box. The size of the subtitle box can also be adjusted by clicking and dragging the edges.
How to use first comments for Call to Action links
For Facebook & LinkedIn posts, Archie can generate a first comment containing your CTA (Call to Action) link. This keeps the post body clean while still directing traffic to your target URL. A first comment is generated automatically for Facebook & LinkedIn posts based on the CTA link configured in your Playbook.
You can add or remove CTA links from your Playbook by:
Clicking on Playbooks
Hover over the Playbook that you would like to update and click the Pencil icon
Next to Audience and Goals, click the Pencil icon
Then scroll down to Call to Action and:
To remove a CTA link, click the X button to the right of the link
OrTo add a CTA link, click Add another URL and paste your link in the text box
Click Save changes at the bottom of the screen.
Please Note: The first comment feature applies to Facebook & LinkedIn posts only. Verify that your CTA link is entered in your Playbook before generating your posts.
Tips for better results
Be selective with ideas. Covering too many themes in one session produces less focused posts. Select one or two themes that are most relevant to your current campaign.
Complete your Playbook before generating. A clear goal, defined audience, and specified tone give Archie the context it needs to produce on-brand posts. Posts generated with an incomplete Playbook will require more editing.
Give specific feedback when iterating. Vague prompts produce vague revisions. The more specific your feedback when talking with Archie, the more accurate it's next draft will be.
