In Agorapulse, you can add Instagram collaborators to a post, which allows up to three Instagram accounts to co-author a single post. When a collaborator accepts your invitation, the post is shared on all participating profiles, appears in the feed of each collaborator’s audience, and displays all account names at the top of the post. This helps increase reach and engagement by publishing content to multiple audiences at once.
You can create a collaborative post directly in Agorapulse by adding a collaborator during the post creation process. Adding a collaborator is different to adding a mention or tag on your post and you can find more information the linked article.
Instagram only allows collaborators from public, unrestricted accounts. If you invite a collaborator with a private or restricted profile, the post will fail to publish.
Please Note: Creating collaborative Instagram posts from Agorapulse is available to users on a Standard, Professional, Advanced or Custom subscription plan. If you would like to change your plan to access this feature, feel free to reach out to us here.
How to add a collaborator to an Instagram post
It is possible to add up to 3 collaborators while creating an Instagram post in the Publishing Composer. In Agorapulse, the Social media preview will only display the name of the account that created the post.
To add collaborator on Instagram while creating a post in the Publishing Composer:
Navigate to the Instagram options panel
Click the Invite collaborators icon
Enter the Instagram username of the collaborator and click + Add
The username must be entered in lowercase (regardless of how the username appear in Instagram), otherwise the post will fail
Usernames are not automatically validated by Agorapulse
To verify a username manually after adding it, click the Check if the user's account exists link
Click Save list of collaborators
The invitation is sent to the collaborator after the post is published.
To complete the post creation and scheduling process, please follow the steps in this article. The collaboration request is sent once the post has been published.
How do I know if an Instagram collaborator has accepted the collaboration invitation?
Agorapulse does not track the status of collaboration requests. To determine whether a collaborator has accepted or declined the invitation, you must check directly on Instagram.
Collaboration requests can be found in the collaborator’s Messages on the Instagram mobile app. If they accept, the post will appear on both their profile and yours. If they decline or do not respond, the post will remain visible only on your profile.
For more information on how to accept a collaboration request, refer to Instagram’s official help article.
I have been added as a collaborator on another account's post. Will this appear in Agorapulse?
No. Collaborative posts are only visible in Agorapulse within the Instagram profile that created and published the post.
Even if you are listed as a co-author on Instagram, the post will not sync with your Agorapulse account unless your organization owns the Instagram profile that created the post.
