How to schedule and publish a post via mobile notification

Learn how to publish Instagram and TikTok posts via mobile notification.

Scheduling a post to publish via mobile notification in Agorapulse allows you to create and schedule posts that you complete directly on the Instagram or TikTok app. This method is required in certain cases where the network does not allow direct publishing through the API.

Mobile notification publishing is available only for Instagram and TikTok posts.

You may need to use this method in the following cases:

  • Publishing Instagram Stories with more than one image or video

  • Adding native text effects or stickers to an Instagram Story

  • Adding custom audio to an Instagram Reel or TikTok video

  • Creating an Instagram collaboration post (Private or Restricted account)

  • Publishing an Instagram Story with a Link Sticker (see Instagram Link Sticker steps below)

Requirements to Publish a Post via Mobile Notification

A Mobile Owner is the team member who receives a push notification from the Agorapulse mobile app to complete the publishing process on their smartphone. These steps ensure the Mobile owner will receive a notification to complete publishing at the scheduled time:

  • Install the Agorapulse mobile app on their device and log in

  • Enable push notifications for the Agorapulse app in their device settings

  • Enable publishing notifications in their Agorapulse personal settings

  • Have the Editor or Admin role for the profile they are publishing to

How to schedule a post to publish via mobile notification

The mobile notification publishing option appears in the social network options panel after you add media to an Instagram (Story, Reel, Post) or TikTok (Video only) post.

To schedule a post to publish via notification when creating a post in the Publishing Composer:

  1. Add text and an image or video to the post

  2. In the Social network options panel, toggle Publish via Mobile notification

  3. Select a Mobile owner who will receive the push notification

  4. (Optional) If Instagram Post type is a story, enter the full link in the link field provided to add a link sticker
    This will automatically copy the link to your clipboard when publishing via the mobile application

  5. Set the date and time for publishing

  6. Click Schedule

Please Note: The link sticker URL option is only available for Instagram Stories.


How to publish a post via mobile notification

When the scheduled publishing time arrives, the assigned mobile owner will receive a push notification from the Agorapulse mobile app. Publishing via mobile notification saves the media directly to the device and automatically copies the caption, making it quick to complete the post in the social network’s app.

Please Note: You must be logged into the Instagram or TikTok account you want to publish to on your mobile device.

To complete and publish a post via mobile notification:

  1. Tap the push notification to open the post in the Agorapulse mobile app

    Alternatively, open the app, tap the Notification bell in the top right, select Publish via Mobile Notification, and choose the relevant post

  2. (Optional) To make changes before publishing, tap the three-dot menu (…) and select Edit

  3. Tap Open Instagram or Open TikTok

  4. Agorapulse will copy the media to your device’s photo library or camera roll. If a caption was added, it will be copied to your clipboard.

  5. In the native app (Instagram or TikTok), create a new post, select the copied media from your library and paste the caption. If a Link Sticker URL was added in the Publishing Composer for an Instagram Story, the link URL will also be copied to your clipboard.

  6. Publish the post directly from the native app
