Agorapulse Advocacy Explained

Learn how to leverage Advocacy to increase the reach of your campaigns.

Updated this week

Agorapulse’s Advocacy feature helps your organization expand the reach of branded content by involving employees, ambassadors, or partners in campaign-based promotion efforts.

Available as an add-on to your existing subscription, the feature includes unlimited Advocacy campaigns and supports up to 50 advocates. Only organization Owners and Managers can access Advocacy from the left-hand navigation menu.

Advocates (employees, ambassadors, or partners) may participate in a campaign by following the steps provided in this article.

In this article, we will cover:

Please Note: The Advocacy feature is available as an add-on to your existing subscription and may be trialed for free. The trial includes 3 campaigns and up to 50 advocates.

What Is the Advocacy Feature?

The Advocacy feature in Agorapulse allows you to create structured campaigns that empower individuals (advocates) to share or engage with your branded content on social media. Advocates may be internal employees, external influencers, or brand partners.

Each campaign consists of a link or a published post that you want your advocates to promote. You can include pre-approved copy suggestions to ensure consistent messaging. Once the campaign is launched, advocates receive a personalized email invitation linking to a dedicated campaign page, where they can view and share the content easily.

Agorapulse supports two campaign formats:

  • Link campaigns
Share any URL (e.g., blog post, landing page, press release). Advocates see a preview of the link and can choose from multiple suggested captions.
Share buttons allow advocates to share directly to Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, or X

  • Post campaigns
Promote a scheduled or published post created within Agorapulse. Advocates can interact with the post by liking, commenting, or sharing from the advocacy campaign landing page.

Please Note: Advocacy campaigns and notifications support the following languages: English, Spanish, French, German.

Each time an advocacy campaign is sent to an individual, it includes an automatically generated UTM parameter that allows you to view the open rate, click-through rates, share rates and traffic generated at the advocate and campaign levels.

The Advocacy feature allows you to:

  • Expand organic reach through authentic, peer-driven content promotion

  • Equip advocates with ready-to-share messaging across supported networks

  • Measure performance with individual and campaign-level reporting

  • Reduce the need for paid ads by activating existing networks

Advocacy Best Practices

  1. Add Internal or External advocates from the Manage advocates section. Import them individually or in bulk, and assign them to distribution lists. Add details like name and locale to personalize email notifications.

  2. Create link campaigns from the Advocacy section or post campaigns from the Publishing Composer. Add up to five copy suggestions, select advocates by list or individually, and use internal notes for context. Set an optional end date and preview the advocate experience before launching.

  3. Track campaign performance from the Advocacy dashboard using the Overview, Performance, and Audience tabs. Monitor open rates, shares, visits, and engagement metrics. Use the Send reminders option to prompt advocates who have not yet interacted with the campaign.

How to configure Advocacy settings

Owners and Managers can configure the settings for the Advocacy feature to increase engagement with advocates. Available settings include:

  • A personalized Advocacy space name and welcome message
