How to add a social profile

Connect your social accounts so that you can manage your social media presence in Agorapulse!

In order to manage your social media accounts through Agorapulse, you will first need to add all the relevant profiles and pages for your organization. For more information on social profiles, you can take a look at this article.

In this article we will outline how to add a social profile in Agorapulse, along with the relevant requirements per social network. If you have already connected a profile but need to renew the token, please follow the instructions here.

Note: Only Owners and Managers are able to add social profiles by default. Members can add a social profile if 'Manage social profiles' is enabled in their permission settings. A user must also have sufficient permissions natively in the social network in order to add a profile to Agorapulse. These permissions are outlined in the Social Network Requirements section.


How to add a social profile

To add a social profile, you first need to access the Connect landing page:

  1. Click on the + Add a user/profile option

  2. Select Add a social profile

  3. Click on the chosen social network
    ​You will be prompted to log in if you are not already connected

  4. Authorize Agorapulse to access your account (Click OK or Allow)
    ​
    ​You will then be re-directed back to Agorapulse. In the Select profiles to connect pop-up, you will find all relevant profiles/pages that your account has access to for the respective social network.
    ​

  5. Add a profile(s) by clicking the + Connect icon next to the profile

  6. When complete, press Done connecting profiles on the bottom-right

The profile will now populate under the Connected profiles & accounts heading on the right. The GIF below provides an overview of the process:


Social Network Requirements

Facebook

To add a Facebook page to Agorapulse:

  • You must have been added to People with Facebook Access in the Facebook Page access settings

or

  • If the page is controlled by a Business portfolio in Meta Business Suite, you must be assigned Full Control to the page in the Pages settings

If you cannot see either of the pages displayed above, you most likely do not have the necessary access. You will need to reach out to an Administrator from your organization to provide this access to. More information about permissions and Meta Business Manager is available here.

X (Twitter)

Any user with access to an X (Twitter) account's log in details may connect the profile to Agorapulse.

Instagram

Only Instagram Professional (Business or Creator) accounts may be added to Agorapulse. If your account is not an Instagram Professional account, you may follow these instructions in order to convert it.

To add an Instagram Professional account to Agorapulse:

  • Your Instagram Professional account must be linked to a Facebook account
    ​This can be confirmed in the Instagram mobile application
    ​

  • You must have the correct access to the linked Facebook account (see here)

  • Depending on the account set-up, you may also need the "asset" assigned to you in Meta Business Manager (here)

LinkedIn

To add a personal LinkedIn account:

  • You must have access to the LinkedIn account's login credentials

Please Note: If you are connecting a personal profile on behalf of client, you will need to log in as the client or have access to the credentials of the personal profile you wish to add.

To add a LinkedIn company/showcase page:

  • You must have a Super Admin role on the LinkedIn account

YouTube

To add a YouTube account/channel to Agorapulse:

  • You must sign in with the Google Account associated with the channel

  • For Brand accounts you must be listed as a Manager on the channel

Google Business

To connect a Google Business profile:

  • You will need to have a role on the Google Business account (Primary Owner, Owner, Manager or Site Manager)

  • The business needs to be verified (this is an API requirement)

TikTok

Any user with access to a TikTok account's log in details may connect the profile to Agorapulse.
​

Note: If you want to link a TikTok account that is different to the one shown on the authorization screen, you must first log out of the account shown and log in to the correct account

Pinterest

Any user with access to an Pinterest account's log in details may connect the profile to Agorapulse.

Threads


Any user with access to an Threads account may connect the profile to Agorapulse.


How many social profiles can I add?

Depending on your subscription, there are a pre-determined amount of profiles available to add to your account. You can confirm these limits on our pricing page or in your Subscription settings.

If you are on one of our paid plans, you have the option to add as many social profiles as you need! These additional profiles can be configured as add-ons in your Subscription settings. More information on that is available here.

It is important to note that users on a Free trial or Free plan, do not have the ability to add additional profiles. Other limitations also apply.

When thinking of adding social profiles to your plan, it's worth comparing your current plan to our other offerings.
